Ordered the vinyl last week and BAM! already here. Played 3x already... thank you NMH!

I only wish Drag City included downloads with purchases.

Drag City seems to be somewhat "conservative" on digital formats... they don't make tracks available on services like Spotify (the licensing terms don't work out for their "business model," I suppose); and they don't even seem to post as many (full) tracks for listening/sampling on their website as they used to.

Of course, they are on iTunes, and offer downloads for purchase on the website. I'm a "physical formats" kind of guy; but I agree that including a free MP3 copy with a vinyl purchase (as so many do now) is a nice touch. (Today, in a record store, I saw a $34(!) "heavyweight vinyl" copy of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here"; at least that came with a free download, thank god!)

-- Looking forward to picking up "Wilson Semiconductors" next week! --

Ha! yeah very much doubt that.

But uh yeah, mpavillion: I always buy vinyl if avail but as a person that uses public transportation to commute to work, I enjoy listening to the records I buy on these new mod cons (ipods) we all succumb to in this crazy 21st century. But maybe this way it'll sound that much better when I get home and back to my turntable. And stuff.

I really dig this new one, NMH!
Any west coast/NW shows planned in the coming years, perhaps?

Very excited for this!

yay! (0.00 / 0)
picked it up last night and playing now for 3rd time ... last tune makes my brain go cross-eyed ... the gentleman at the record store was telling me how he'd convinced a friend to buy ROGUE MOON sight-unheard and the startling effect it had on both of them ... he was excited, therefore, for this one, but I am not sure it's going to be what he's expecting

we'll take this as a compliment /nt (0.00 / 0)

loving this so much. (0.00 / 0)
this album is stunning.  compositionally, it is superb.  every note is scrutinized and carefully chosen.  have you always been so motivated by composition?  did you ever have any schooling or formal training in the subject?  what inspires you more, composition or songwriting?  or do you go back and forth these days?  sorry, so many questions.  this is deeply thought-provoking music.

for this record i think the thing that made a difference was that we wrote it, played live then rewrote it, played live etc for over a year. Then we could pick things out of the live improvisations and write them down. When we got to the studio we worked fast and just played what we had written.
